INTERVIEW WITH SELLER

What’s the reason for selling the yacht?

After 10 years of owning Yachts, we have made the decision to move to a different type of sailing. We are looking to purchase an open boat for racing

Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?

The boat has only been sailing on the IJsselmeer and the Dutch Waddenzee. With the good speed of the boat, Texel, Vlieland and Terschelling are all easily reached in one day sailing from Lemmer.

Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?

We are the second owner of the yacht, and have been owners since 2012. The boat was purchased from Yachting Company Muiderzand, who have an overview of the entire history

Has the yacht been without any accident?

Yes, the boat has always been handled with care, has never been chartered and has only been skippered by the owner.

The first owners did have an incident with their mast, which during a craning accident was damaged (total loss). This mast was replaced by us in 2012 with an original Selden mast with all components renewed including all rigging.

What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?

The boat has an extra large fully battened mainsail, which in combination with the 110% gib provides a balanced and powerful sail plan. The boat easily reaches 8-9kn on a broad reach and is able to go upwind at very acceptable angels to the apparent wind. In fun regatta's Passion is able to sail in the leading pack, although her rating means she does not often win prizes.

How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?

Since 2012, the engine has been maintained by a marine mechanic, and has had an oil change and filters at the start of each winter. This has just been done for the current winter period.

Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?

Yes. Each winter since 2012, the boat has been played up inside in a hall. The mast has been stored separately. The external deck and hull of the boat is therefore in a very good state.

What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?

The name Passion was given to the boat by the first owners. This has not been changed by us. we are not aware of the meaning, but we love the name!
