This yacht has been tested on 12-09-2017 by an Expert Pleziervaartuigen. During this extensive test the yacht was assessed on a number of components:

    What’s the reason for selling the yacht?

    The ship is being sold because the children are not showing any interest in sailing and do not want to spent their weekends / vacations on the yacht. As a result, the parents interest is also declining. The yacht deserves to sail and not lay in the harbor for most of the time...  

    Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?

    On the markermeer and ijsselmeer in the Netherlands 

    Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?

    Since august 2010. We are the second owner. The first owner has trade-in the yacht on a bigger Etap, at the Etap dealer where we bought her.  

    Has the yacht been without any accident?

    Yes, as far as we know. 

    What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?

    The ship is stable both on the engine and under sail. She sails high to the wind compared to other ships of equal size that we encounter on our way. The rig is well balanced. At 15 knots of windspeed, reefing is needed to keep the balance straight. The ship is easy to sail single handed, all lines run to the cockpit. 

    How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?

    The ship is maintained by a professional Yachting service company. For example engine servicing and antifrost preparation. Invoices for maintenance are present and are part of the extensive documentation. 

    Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?

    Every other year the yacht was ashore during the winter period 

    What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?

    We renamed the ship to La Digue. Our first sailboat was named Praslin, named after a Seychelles island. We liked the name so much that, when buying our second boat, the name had to come another Seychelles island again. 

    Other remarks:

    Due to the fact that Etaps are fitted with an inner and outer shell with foam between them, the boat is declared unsinkable. A reassuring feeling when you are sailing with litle children aboard. In addition, there is hardly any condensation in the boat after an overnight stay, which we find very comfortable.
