What’s the reason for selling the yacht?

I love both sailing and my E3. However, I have constantly been busy with work and enjoy even more spending time with my three kids (between 15 and 10 y.o.), who are all now involved in competitive sports, which is very demanding for the parents as well. I will certainly be back on the water in a couple of years, but for now I would not be able to take care of the boat and enjoy sailing as much as I wish to.

Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?

From 2021 through 2023 I sailed the boat exclusively in the Ijsselmeer. At the end of 2023 I transferred it to Willemstad, sailing all Zeeland for two seasons. Transfer back north to the Markermeer end of 2025, based in Muiderzand since then. Both transfers via Ijmuiden - Roompot sluis.

Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?

I am the first owner of the yacht. It got her delivered from Elan yard in Slovenia in September 2021.

Has the yacht been without any accident?

Yes, no accident.

What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?

The E3 is a performance cruiser and yet very easy to sail, even single handed due to the very good autopilot system (useful in particular when tacking upwind). The helm remains light almost all the time and is very responsive, very well balanced Jefa twin-rudder system. When reaching in a breeze the E3 is very enjoyable and fast, hitting double digits under gennaker. Very stiff and stable in rough seas thanks to the vacuum infusion lamination of the hull and the wide stern. At the same time, due to the light weight, some 5-6 kts of wind are enough to gain some 5 kts of boat speed upwind.

How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?

The boat underwent yearly maintenance, e.g. required engine service. Last cleaning / polishing including teak parts and new anti fouling (International Interspeed Extra) by Massenberg Yacht Care in winter 25/26. Invoices available.

Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?

Yes, every year ashore from approx. November until mid / end March.

What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?

Disco Volante - inspired by the vintage James Bond Movie "Thunderball" (yacht of villain Largo).
