    What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
    We are looking for a larger yacht for longer trips and stays on board.
    Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
    The Markerlake and IJssellake, the Wadden (tidal area) and Dutch coastal waters and beyond.
    Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
    In total 4 owners. Owner since 2016
    Has the yacht been without any accident?
    Certainly
    What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
    The Freedom is a special ship. Designed by Garry Hoyt. An avid competition sailer who wondered why there was so little innovation in boatbuilding and rigging. So, he developed the Freedom. A ship with a cat ketch rig, with wishbones and with free standing masts made from carbon fibre . Advantage: sails can be optimally trimmed on any course, with a special advantage when (broad)reaching. Here the Freedom is really fast, much faster than most ships of a similar size or even larger. The Freedom has been thouroughly tested through time, almost all ships build still sail. The Freedom is easy to sail shorthanded. Tacking is a breeze, because there is no genua to be winched in. And all lines lead to an (oversized) winch in the cockpit.
    How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?

    Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
    Every year ashore.
    What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
    Floodtide. After the quote by William Shakespeare: "There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune"
    Other remarks:
    This is a special ship, not one out of many. The rigging is innovative and well proven. It has a lift keel, so it can navigate shallow waters, easily. This really enlarges the navigational possibilities. This ship can fall dry with the use of solid stainless steel wad legs . There is an active owners club in the Netherlands as well as in many other countries and an international website where you can find much inforation on these yachts (www.freedomyachts.org).
