LOCATIE
INTERVIEW WITH SELLER
- What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
- We are going to orient ourselves on a ship that we want to sail for a longer period and (even) further distance. It is therefore with pain in our hearts that we are selling the J120. A ship that we enjoyed not only because of the speed and the enormous sailing comfort... It is sometimes called the cream of the crop by J boat enthusiasts and that is entirely justified in our opinion.
- Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
- We mainly sailed Markermeer/Ijsselmeer with it. During the holidays from the Channel Islands to the North of Denmark. It has always been on fresh water as a permanent mooring.
- Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
- We are the 3rd owner and bought the yacht in 2014.
- Has the yacht been without any accident?
- Yes, apart from minor usage damage.
- What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
- Fantastic sailing properties. The boat was Cruising World magazine's Overall Boat Of The Year in 2010. This yacht is designed to sail fast. The sporty sailor can indulge in an incredible number of trim options. But this yacht is also ideal for cruising. As a family, we sailed long distances with it during the holidays with great sailing comfort.
- How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
- Certainly. Maintenance invoices are available for, among other things, annual maintenance of the engine, winter storage on land, minor repairs by the shipyard (such as a small gel coat repair). But also the sail plan, underwater hull, electronics, fixed and running rigging have all been kept in excellent condition.
- Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
- yes, on shore in winter storage every other year.
- What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
- The boat is called Jipper. We came up with this one ourselves with the whole family because we obviously wanted a name that starts with a 'J'. We wanted a name that not everyone has (it's the only Jipper in the world), that makes us happy and that is internationally practical.
- Other remarks:
- When we purchased the ship in 2014, we had the keel/hull connection preventively reinforced by Schaap Shipcare in Medemblik with a number of glass plates. We also had a known problem with many J's (water ingress at the rigging) solved by Schaap Shipcare in 2014.
