INTERVIEW WITH SELLER

What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
We have been passionate sailors all our lives. Sailing has always brought us freedom, peace and adventure. Our ship has carried us through beautiful waters and provided us with countless beautiful memories. However, with a heavy heart, we have decided to close this chapter and sell our beloved ship.

The reason for this decision is simple: life changes. With a busy job, a growing family and new interests that increasingly demand more time, we notice that we choose the open sea less often. Although our love for the water remains, intensive sailing on larger waters no longer suits our current phase in life.

We are not closing the door to sailing completely. We will probably switch to something smaller, suitable for the Dutch lakes, in order to remain connected to the water that has given us so much. But it is time for our current ship, which is in top condition and ready for many new adventures, to find a new home with someone who enjoys it as much as we have.
Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
Our sailing area was mainly the Markermeer and IJsselmeer.
Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
We have been the proud, second owner of the ship Offline since 2023. Prior to our purchase, we carefully investigated whether the ship had ever been used for rental, and that is absolutely not the case. Offline has always been privately owned and maintained with great care, which is also reflected in the excellent condition it is in.
Has the yacht been without any accident?
The vessel is completely undamaged and in excellent condition. There have been no collisions, groundings or other incidents that have caused damage to hull, rigging or engine. Both we and the previous owner have treated the vessel with care and attention, which is clearly reflected in the overall condition and reliability of Offline.
What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
Offline sails exceptionally comfortably and is easy to handle for both experienced sailors and families. The roller furling mainsail and roller furling jib make hoisting and reefing the sails quick and easy, even with a limited crew. Thanks to the electric winches, trimming requires little effort, which makes sailing relaxed and enjoyable, even in stronger winds. The Bimini offers excellent shelter from sun and rain, which makes longer trips pleasant even in changing conditions. In addition, the ship is equipped with a bow thruster, which makes manoeuvring in harbours or narrow spaces particularly easy. In short, a ship that stands for comfortable and effortless sailing, with smart facilities that contribute to relaxed sailing pleasure.
How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
Directly prior to our purchase in 2023, Offline was professionally maintained. Among other things, a new layer of antifouling was applied, the hull was thoroughly cleaned and engine maintenance was carried out. This ensured that the ship was in excellent condition upon transfer and was immediately ready to sail.
Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
In the winter of 2025, the ship was on shore for regular maintenance. In the spring, various activities were carried out to bring the ship back into top condition. For example, the hull was thoroughly cleaned and provided with a new layer of antifouling, and then completely polished and waxed. The thick teak deck was given a complete treatment, making it look sleek and well-maintained again. The superstructure was also cleaned and waxed. All this makes keeping the ship clean very easy, which contributes to maintaining its neat and tidy appearance.
What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
The name Offline has a deeper meaning for us. It is a symbolic reference to escaping from the constant connection with technology, work and social obligations. The ship offers the perfect opportunity to go "offline" for a while, literally and figuratively. While on the water, you are detached from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and you can truly unwind. It is a place where, without reception or connection to the outside world, we can fully enjoy nature and the peace that sailing brings. In this way, Offline not only offers adventure and freedom, but also the opportunity to escape and recharge, away from everything that normally draws our attention.
Other remarks:
Offline is a ship that has been maintained with great care and love. The ship is damage-free, has never been rented out and has always been used privately. Thanks to the combination of comfort and practical sailing characteristics, it is extremely suitable for both relaxing holiday trips and longer journeys. The presence of a bow thruster, electric winches, furling mainsail and furling jib makes sailing easy and stress-free, even with a smaller crew. In addition, the ship is equipped with a Bimini for extra comfort on sunny days. The teak deck is in very good condition and will be completely treated in 2025. In short, a sailing yacht that is ready to sail for a new owner who wants to enjoy the water without a care in the world.
