What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
After 15 years of sailing with our Splinter we have started our search for a bigger yacht for future long distance adventures.
Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
South west of Holland, Belgium and northern France.
Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
We own the yacht since the end of 2010 and we are the third owner.
Has the yacht been without any accident?
Yes
What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
Maneuvering with the engine is easy. Under sail she performs really well. This is due to the furling main sail with vertical battens, the two bladed Flexofold prop and the renewed and reshaped rudder by Modus Marina. All this, in combination with the deep keel makes it a comfortable ship, even during close hauled sailing.
How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
Partly the ship is maintained by our self and partly by extern companies. The extensive technical maintenance is done by professional companies with available invoices.
Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
Every other year the ship was ashore during the winter season.
What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
We named our ship 'Splinter'. This has nothing to do with wood splinters, however it was the name of our four-legged best friend.
