INTERVIEW WITH SELLER
- What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
- It really is a fantastic and impressive ship, but after sailing it for 12 years, it is now time for us to move on to another boat that suits our new family situation and our future plans. To be honest, it will be a bit difficult when the boat is actually sold, but for us, it is the right choice right now.
- Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
- The boat has been used extensively by us on the Vecht (a perfect, spacious drinks boat with a toilet) and on the adjacent Markermeer and IJsselmeer (skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, speeding). Naturally, it has also been used a lot in Amsterdam, where the tube adds an extra relaxed feeling. But because it is comfortable for overnight stays, we have also regularly taken longer trips, with and without children, such as across the IJssel, the Randmeren, or closer to home on the Vinkeveense or Loosdrechtse lakes.
- Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
- As far as I know, I am the third owner, although I understood at the time that the second owner did not have the boat in their possession for long due to circumstances.
- Has the yacht been without any accident?
- Yes, nothing has ever happened to it since we have owned the boat in 2014. Of course, I cannot speak for the previous owners, but the fact that we have enjoyed sailing it for 12 years without any significant problems says something, I think.
- What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
- The ship simply sails incredibly well. It is extremely stable thanks to its wonderful beam of no less than 3.5m, and the two engines complete the picture. With them, you can maneuver the ship with centimeter precision (both forwards and backwards), with the added assistance of the bow thruster if needed. No steering corrections are ever required; the ship continues sailing stoically straight ahead. The boat is very pleasant to sail at a leisurely pace, allowing the engines to do their work in a relaxed manner; if desired, you can also sail on one engine. But when you open up both engines, things really happen; not so much in terms of pure top speed, but rather the power the boat displays is downright impressive, while remaining extremely stable. That is when something truly remarkable is coming... I still get a smile on my face every time I look back ;)
- How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
- Yes, the boat has been perfectly maintained over the past 12 years by the same renowned shipyard. All invoices from that are available, so there is a complete maintenance history. Invoices are also available for all installed items, such as the new sprayhood, tent, and upholstery added quite recently. Everyone in our area who knows the boat also knows that it is always in good condition, clean, and tidy. The boat is moored at home, so keeping it tidy is a small effort.
- Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
- Yes, since we acquired the boat (2014), the vessel has overwintered indoors in a professional shed every year. It goes in polished and clean, and every spring it receives a thorough polishing (including a double quartz coating with sealant) and fresh antifouling. And, of course, any necessary work on the ship is carried out at that time as well.
- What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
- The boat is named UnDutchaBle. It is a uniquely designed vessel of which no other exists, and that therefore called for a unique name. A hint of Unbeatable and the two small Dutch flags sewn onto the canopy subtly refer to the word Dutch.
- Other remarks:
- We’ve had a brilliant time with the boat and it’s never let us down. The combination of plenty of space and comfort for enjoying time with family and friends, plus the boat’s power (including a lovely stern wave at half throttle ;) makes it the perfect boat for anyone looking for something a bit different, yet still wanting plenty of comfort and ‘fun on the water’. You might not have considered this boat in your search, but you’ll really love it. I hope the new owner will look after it just as well and get just as much enjoyment out of it. I’m actually quite sure of that last bit...
