    LOCATIE

    INTERVIEW WITH SELLER

What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
We have thoroughly enjoyed extensive cruising over the past ten years and have created many unforgettable memories aboard this yacht. As our sailing lifestyle has evolved and we increasingly focus on longer stays and cruising in the Caribbean, we recently decided to move to a catamaran to gain additional living space and comfort.
Selling this yacht is therefore not a necessity, but simply the next step in our sailing journey.
Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
The yacht has been extensively sailed in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. She has also successfully completed Atlantic crossings, where she proved herself to be a safe, seaworthy, and reliable offshore cruiser in a wide range of conditions.
Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
We are the second owners and purchased the yacht in 2006. She has always been privately owned and has never been used for charter operations.

Has the yacht been without any accident?
The yacht has never been involved in any major accident, grounding, or collision. Naturally, over the years there have been cosmetic marks consistent with normal use, such as scratches from anchoring or contact with mooring fascilities, but nothing affecting the structural integrity or performance of the vessel.
What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
The Hanse 400 is a performance-oriented cruising yacht that combines speed, agility, and excellent handling with comfort and ease of operation. She offers responsive sailing characteristics while remaining forgiving and predictable, even in stronger conditions.
The self-tacking jib and all control lines led aft to the helm make the yacht exceptionally easy to handle short-handed or even single-handed. At the same time, she remains comfortable and rewarding to sail with a full crew on longer passages.
Combined with her bluewater-oriented equipment and energy autonomy, she is equally suited for ambitious offshore passages as well as relaxed long-term cruising at anchor.

How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
The yacht has been meticulously maintained throughout our ownership in line with manufacturers' guidelines and our own high standards as experienced bluewater sailors. A significant portion of the regular maintenance work has been carried out personally by us as attentive and hands-on owners.
Whenever repairs, servicing, or replacements were required, they were addressed promptly and professionally. This also includes the continuous upgrading and modernization of onboard systems relevant for bluewater cruising and onboard comfort. Maintenance documentation and invoices for major works and equipment are available.
Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
Yes. During the last ten years of our ownership, the yacht spent seven winter / off-season periods ashore and three seasons afloat. Regular haul-outs allowed for thorough inspection, maintenance, and proper care of the hull, underwater systems, and technical equipment.
What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
The yacht's name is Plan B. "Plan A" represented our professional working life — "Arbeit" in German — while "Plan B" stands for the boating and sailing life we aspired to and ultimately embraced. The name reflects the freedom, adventure, and lifestyle that sailing has brought us over the years.
    Other remarks:
Plan B has been a reliable and much-loved cruising yacht, equally capable of comfortable coastal sailing and serious offshore passages. Thanks to her extensive bluewater equipment — including solar panels, lithium batteries, watermaker, dinghy davits, air conditioning, and numerous further upgrades — she offers a rare and compelling combination of energy autonomy, long-range capability, and liveaboard comfort. She is a well-balanced yacht that has always been cared for with great attention and genuine pride of ownership. We hope her next owners will enjoy as many rewarding adventures aboard as we have.
