    What’s the reason for selling the yacht?

    By sailing to Antarctica, Japan and the Northwest Passage, I have realized my dream. I retire from oceans now.

    Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?

    First owner 

    Has the yacht been without any accident?

    On the Pacific we encountered a mini-cyclone. One of ther spreaders om the main-mast broke off. It was repaired and made a lot stronger in Tahiti in 2014. The rigging was renewed as well as the boomvang. The boom was mended.
    A Marina on the Philippines, lifted the boat under her hydraulic lift-keel. The hydraulics for the lift-keel are made for 3 tons and not for the weight of the ship, which is 17 tons. Therefore a seal in the main-cilinder broke. The hydraulics
    are overhauled in 2016. 

    What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?

    Due to a high freeboard, the ship is safe at sea. Its sharp bow, splices the waves; if needed in combination with the 2 engines, sailing dead ahead into the waves is possible until Beaufort 7.
    The rigging (2 masts and 2 foresails, gives endless variety to trim. Therefore best characteristics for long ocean voyages.
    Sailing in the Arctic and in the tropics is comfortable due to ice enforcement and isolation (6 cm industrial foam; double glass windows)  

    How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?

    Sailing the Arctic demands a perfect maintained ship. 

    Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
