What’s the reason for selling the yacht?
The ship has two owners, one of whom has decided to stop, after 18 years of sailing, 7 years with this Hanse. So we de idee to sell the ship, with mixed feelings...
Where have you been sailing (sailing area)?
Gooimeer (from berth Huizen), Markermeer, IJsselmeer
Since when are you the owner of the yacht? How many owners?
We bought the Hanse in 2013 from the first owner.
Has the yacht been without any accident?
Yes, we only have replaced a “bump list” (stootlijst) because of damage of this list.
What can you tell about the sailing characteristics?
The Hanze is very easy to sail, everything can be operated form the cockpit. The helm rod makes controlling easy and is preferable above a steering wheel at ships of this length. The self tacking jib makes it very easy to tack. Maneuvering on the engine is also very easy due to the bow thruster.
How is the yacht maintained, are there any invoices available concerning the maintenance?
The ship has had annual maintenance and was prepared for winter for storage on shore. Invoices are available.
Was the yacht regularly ashore during winterperiods? Every year?
Yes, from October/November until March/April the yacht was ashore.
What is the boat name and the (special) meaning of this name?
Mare, meaning “sea” in Latin, and Mare was the name of the university journal of Leyden University, where both owners have got to know each other.
